FROM CHURCH INTO THE SPOTLIGHT; OLAWALE PROJECT FAME SEASON 6 WINNER

Olawale Born in the ancient city of Ibadan in Oyo state, Olawale Ayodele Ojo is best known for his charming voice, relaxed poise and his hard to resist, boy next-door charm, the first of four kids.

Olawale’s first encounter with music started six years ago when he joined the church choir in the university, honing his music skills and moving through the ranks to later become the music director.

Olawale is currently a graduate of Agronomy at the Ladoke Akintola University in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. Artists like J. Moss, Deitrick Haddon, Neyo, Bruno Mars and Tiwa Savage influence his style of music. He draws inspiration for his songs when taking long walk, playing the keyboard and listening to music.

He was first officially introduced to the Nigerian music industry in 2013, following his participation in Nigeria’s foremost music reality show, MTN Project Fame. MTN Project Fame On September 29th 2013, he emerged winner of MTN Project Fame Season 6.

The final months of 2013 served as another level of grooming for Olawale’s music career. His first encounter at the Knighthouse studios in Lagos, proved interesting; he spent hours in the studio experimenting with sounds till he finally found one that suited his vocals, image and style.

Hours became days, days became months and gradually, his music direction and mentality evolved, birthing a unique blend of R&B, Pop and Fuji.

Four months after winning Project Fame, Olawale dropped his first official single, “Is Notin” which received impressive radio and TV airplay. In Jul 2014, Olawale released two new singles, titled “Jupa” and “Follow My Lead” produced by Spellz and DJ Coublon respectively.

The video for Jupa was released in August across different media platforms in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. These singles officially set the tone for his 8-track EP, titled ALMOST FAMOUS.

Olawale is out with another single, this one he titled "MY DARLING".
