Laffmattazz Olumo rocks edition was no doubt the gathering of Stars, as some of the biggest names in Ogun Politics, Nollywood, music and comedy sectors came out to see the show.
October 1, 2016 is a day the great people of Abeokuta will not forget in a hurry, as Gbenga Adeyinka D'1st staged Laffmattazz for the first time in Abeokuta at the Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Been the Abeokuta's maiden edition of the show, the event was hugely attended by leading entertainers, most sort after celebrities and upwardly mobile revellers.
The glamorous event which began with an Orange carpet session at about 2pm hosted by Lagos blogger;Bodex and Ogun Coper; Godwin, saw the stars and celebrities with their fans posing for personal, selfies and group photographs.
In attendance at the event were Nollywood stars like Yomi Fash Lanso, Fathia Williams Balogun, Toyin Aimahku, Dayo Amusa, Mr Latin , Kemi Afolabi, Seun Olaiya to mention but few.
Musicians on stage at the event were; The Chairman; MI Abaga, the "R n B" genius; Capital F.E.M.I, Reminisce; Alaga Ibile, the Illegal crooner; Pepenazi, Olalakeside (a.k.a. Shanawole), Small Doctor, 9ice (Alapomeji) and others. Comedians like Okey Bakasi, Koffi (tha Guru), MC Abbey (da prof), Omobaba, Seyi Law, Bash, MC Ajele, Abeokuta's finest; Dr Smile, Still Ringing, Bow Joint, Ibadan's finest; Peteru, SLK, MC Password, Princephelar and host of others were also on stage at the event. On the wheel of steel were DJ Instinct and DJ MC Obi.
With the creator of the premium brand, Gbenga Adeyinka D'1st in charge of the event, the event kicked off with a performance from the ace comedian Okey Bakasi who set the event on a motion with a very high tempo of laughter from the audience.
A few minutes to 4, the first Lady of Ogun State; Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunsho Amosun walked into the elaborately decorated and Maltina branded hall and the grand comedian himself took over the stage and delivered a 30 minute performance which showed everyone in attendance why he his called Gbenga Adeyinka D'1st.
The two Comic acts who summoned courage to enter into the Instagram promo competition and came out first also thrilled the audience and after their performance got a sum of 50,000 naira cash for coming first as promised by the grand comedian. The comic act who came second also got a sum of 10,000 naira cash.
MI Abaga delivered an electrifying performance, as he sang his hit tracks like , MI1, Action Film, Bullion Van and so on with the popular female Disk Jockey; DJ Lambo on the wheels for his performance.
Small Doctor delivered an energetic performance as usual, 9ice (Alapomeji) brought back the Gongo Aso groove as he performed the hit track alongside others like; Everyday, Make dem talk, Ganger Man, Petepete (which he used to express his displeasure with the current situation of the country at 56). The "R n B" genius, Capital F.E.M.I laced the show with the "sweet-sweet love" kind of songs.
The comedians also performed excellently. When he mounted the stage, comedian, Seyi Law, took the audience to the next level of laughter with his Ilesha dialect. Still Ringing came up with their messages as the worse interpreter ever liveth translated. MC Abbey (da Prof), Koffi and other comedians such as Peteru, Bash, SLK, Harvantage, Dr Smile, MC Ajele, Bow Joint, Princephelar, Taichi Master, MC Password and others performed and thrilled the audience in their own unique styles.
Wrapping up the event was a brilliant performance by the Illegal crooner; Pepenazi as he sang songs like; One for the road, Ain't got no time and his hit track Illegal.
The show came to an end a few minutes to Eleven P.M, with the crowd thoroughly entertained, after which everyone moved to the prestigious Sky Pavilion for an after party. It was indeed a day when Abeokuta the City tagged Olumo truly Rocked.
